If you would like to find the router’s IP address on your own then you can follow the steps below. The way you’ll find out your router’s IP address will be different depending on your device . Here are the steps for each.

Windows

Open the command prompt by accessing the search bar and typing ‘cmd’. A black window will appear in which you’ll need to type ‘ipconfig’. Look through the results for the default gateway address.

MAC OS

Here are the simplest steps for checking your router’s IP:

  • Click the Apple menu (top of the screen)
  • Choose ‘System Preferences’
  • Click the ‘Network’ icon
  • Choose the relevant network connection
  • Press the ‘Advanced’ button
  • Click the ‘TCP/IP’ tab to see the IP address on the right of the router

Linux

First, navigate to: Applications > System Tools > Terminal and type ‘ipconfig’. You will see your router’s IP listed beside ‘inet addr’.
